CSR Consulting: Strategy and Implementation
​​We at Social Footprint support our clients by conceptualising their CSR goals by advising them on funds utilization, keeping in mind their business operations and regional focus. There are certain sectors such as education and health which receive the majority of CSR funds while other areas like tribal welfare and child sexual abuse receive almost no attention at all. Similarly, more developed states (Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka) receive large funds and states with high number of backward districts receive a much smaller percentage. We advise our clients on the CSR strategy most suitable to them and feasibility of executing that strategy in a timely manner.

However, strategy and implementation are two very different aspects of CSR. Working at the grassroots level in India is unlike any experience. The ground situation can be starkly different than what has been assured to us by the implementing agency or even the government officials/local leaders. The obstacles in executing a CSR project on the ground are innumerable.
Our on-ground staff ensures that these issues are addressed immediately and project is implemented as per the timeline. We are constantly in touch with the local NGO, local political leaders and govt officials for smooth execution.

Since September 2022, we have had the privilege of shooting and publishing over 20 films that showcase impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Monitoring and Evaluation – Impact Assessment
On-ground implementation of the project and constant monitoring, through collection and analysis of data, go hand-in-hand.
However, sometimes, these tend to present divergent views, and an immediate inspection is required. In the social sector space, we have all had cases where data tells a rosy, beautiful story but during a field visit, the situation is entirely different!
At Social Footprint, we have highly qualified and trained team members in the field of M&E who ensure that data matches the ground situation and vice-versa. We understand the importance of project evaluation and impact assessment and how crucial they are to any CSR partner, especially for PSUs. Our team is always collecting data and making inspection visits to ensure success of the project and create maximum impact on ground.

Fundraising for NGOs
All of us at Social Footprint have worked very closely with several NGOs over last few years. And we have seen how constrained some of these NGOs are, despite doing great work for decades. They have focused entirely on their work and output and not on publicity or fundraising. These organisations have the most hard-working and sincere teams that have been associated with them for a long time. Their paperwork and accounting is transparent and clear. And their understanding of the local area is unparalleled.
Therefore, from time to time, we support NGOs with their fundraising efforts. In such cases, Social Footprint’s role is limited to raising money for their overall operations or for a specific project.

Working with Public Representatives
(MPs & MLAs)
Good work speaks for itself and our implementing agencies’ well-executed projects often attract attention of local public representatives.
In the past, we have worked closely with MPs and leveraged not only CSR funds but unique government schemes that have the potential to impact thousands and lakhs of citizens.
One such scheme is the ADIP scheme under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India wherein aids and appliances are provided to differently abled persons of the MPs constituency. Not all elected representatives are aware of such schemes and my colleagues at Social Footprint not only apprise them but also complete all paperwork and follow up continuously with state and central govt officials to implement such schemes and benefit the constituents.
