The Team

Founder & CEO

Harshvardhan Sharma

After completing his schooling from Tokyo, Japan and graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Harshvardhan started his career with Ernst & Young's research & advisory wing.

He decided to plunge into the rural development sector full-time after a volunteering stint. Sharma spent few years working in villages of Tamil Nadu with AID INDIA, an NGO improving learning outcomes of children studying in government schools.

He then joined Mr. Jithender Reddy, a two-time Member of Parliament in Telangana, as part of a Tata Trusts-funded fellowship. Sharma implemented several projects in Mr. Reddy's constituency, funded largely by corporates, improving lives of more than 50,000 people.

After spending almost a decade on the field, working on the grassroots level with the most marginalised communities, Sharma founded Social Footprint to channelise funds from the corporate sector to the civil society organisations. He believes that together, CSOs, corporates, philanthropists, governments and like-minded individuals can bring a large and sustainable change in people's lives.
